Lovell has submitted a planning application for the £45m regeneration of High View neighbourhood centre in Hatfield.
The area, which dates from the 1950s, is set to be transformed by providing new places and spaces for people to live, work, meet and shop.
The scheme is expected to deliver:
- 150 new homes, including 25% affordable homes.
- A new doctors’ surgery.
- 19 new commercial units for current tenants and new businesses.
- Improved connectivity to the Jim McDonald Centre.
- New green spaces and play areas.
Councillor Duncan Bell, Executive Member for Resources at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, said: “The community has helped us shape these plans from the very start and I’d like to thank everyone who has come along to the public exhibitions or shared their views online.
“These plans will breathe new life into High View, adding better units for new and existing businesses, creating vibrant public spaces, and improving the local services the community relies on. We’re really pleased to have reached this milestone – it’s what we’ve been working towards for many months – and we hope to achieve our next ambition, starting on site, later this year.”
